No it does not play dvds or cds. This projector hooks to your xbox or ps2 or gamecube. Does not hook to the television at all. So you cannot even hook this to your dvd player or vhs. It is a very big waste of money and a very big dissappointment. I wasNOT impressed. I was very diappointed. The picture w/ this projector is very grainy. AWFUL Projector! I originally bought it because my son always enjoys closing the shades and watching tv in the dark and enjoys the cinama feel ... but I totally regret getting this. Don't buy it or you will regret it too.
