You know the annual subscription that is mentioned in the advertisement. Oh, I'm sorry you didn't read the fine print that mentions a subscription fee. Well here is the FAQ from the company web site about this subscription. 10: The first twelve months of the ID Vault Subscription Service are free. How much does it cost to renew my subscription? Can I still use ID Vault if I don't renew? Although the first twelve months of the ID Vault Service are free with the purchase of ID Vault, you must renew your ID Vault Service subscription in order to be protected by our guarantee beyond the one-year period from the date of purchase. The ID Vault Service gives you access to our Trusted Network of more than 7,000 financial sites that we constantly monitor to provide you with advanced phishing and pharming protection, any updates to the ID Vault Trusted Network, and free ID Vault software updates and upgrades. Customer Rating: Summary: Painful if you share your computer or if you want to use it on the go Comment: I travel a lot and purchased this, thinking that it will be handy to protect my passwords everywhere that I go. It is practically useless if the driver software is not installed in the computer that you are using with it (this is the case if you are using cyber café or hotel computer that you will not have the administrator's rights to install the software.) At home, there is still the problem. My computer is share with the family members. The installed ID Vault software will keep on asking password who ever try to access the computer. It is annoying for my family members that I had to un-install it from the computer and ID-vault became practically useless. So, this device will be only useful if you have the computer that you are the only person using it, and you have the administrator's rights to install the software.
