RCA's latest DOCSIS 2.0 certified cable modem, the DCM425 is future-proof and supports up to 16 upstream flows in silicon and represents a further improvement of DOCSIS product-line in a small form factor. The 16 upstream flows allow operators to provide tiered data services and support more efficient traffic prioritization schemes for telephony. Not only does the cable modem allow symmetrical data transfer, and tripled upstream throughput, but the modem integrates Broadcom's Propane technology, enabling the connection of more Internet users without additional bandwidth. RCA's case design is consistent throughout its product line of cable modems and gateways.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great Cable Modem... Comment: This RCA modem worked great from day one. Would highly recommend this modem to anyone who has Comcast (or any other high speed connection) cable.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ok Modem, but not the one for me Comment: I recently just got Cable w/the RCA DCM425 modem. Everything was going good at first. I was able to connect to the internet with no problems... until I tried to run a game called Planetside (Massive Online Game created by Sony). Every time I tried to log onto the server, I was disconnected. I tried everything, disabling/removing my Norton Firewall. Turing off all of Windows Security Center options. Nothing worked. I called Sony's support and they said it was my Cable provider. I called my Cable provider and after a long talk, they found that my connection speed wasn't as fast as it should be. Well, to make sure that it was the modem I went to a friends house along with my desktop and used his internet provider. It worked, everything was fine. For some reason, this modem will not allow me to connect. Now I have to wait a few days more to get some tech guy to tell me what I already know. For the most part, this modem works fine for the average user, but it doesn't work with everything. I just happened to hit a snag with using my games.
